I love this piece of work. It's just the best. It has become an important part of my life. Better to say: HELENA ROJO has become an important character in my life in the role of Luciana Duval. Congratulation to so much talnet, such a great person who can drive you crazy with her acting. She is an extraordinary one and she makes such an amazing couple with ANDRES GARCIA! The series is so real. The story is so true. Not like other ones where those really unreal things and characters face up. This novela is just perfect.

I saw this years after it had aired for the first time and it was the most incredible novela I had ever seen.... I laughed and cried and felt like I could identify myself with many of these characters. A fabulous one indeed and it will be hard to top.

Me gusto mucho esta novela, todos los actores stuvieron buenisimos muy bien escogidos sobre todo Cesar Evora y Adela Noriega, Cinthia Klitbo una vez mas se lucio como villana con una excellente actuacion, me acuerdo del capitulo en que ella se afeito la cabeza, fue muy impactante¡¡. Casi todos los actores protagonicos se llevaron reconocimientos en los TV y novelas excepto Rene Strickler lo cual me parecio injusto xq fue un galan muy lindo en todos los aspectos.

The most beautiful and real novela I have seen. Honest talking, all of the actors and actresses have done their best. Congrats to Helena Rojo, Andres Garcia, Cynthia Klitbo, Rene Strickler and Adela Noriega for their amazing act. But before everyone congrats to senora Helena Rojo. Without this lady and the painful impression she leaves behind every act, the novela would never get that popular neither that lovely to watch. I keep my fingers crossed for this lady and wish her happiness, health and success ever. God bless her.

This was the best one I have ever seen. Nothing comparable to the boring aimless Entre el amor y el odio. Thanks for letting us express our feelings and words. I should say Helena Rojo was the beautiful star and hit of the novela. The gorgeous Luciana Duval, so real a personality of a person with that life story, so real the suffer and pain and the temporary cruelty that sometimes merged from her bitter ached spirit and how professional it was managed to shape the figure as the talented Helena Rojo did. WAW!!

El Privilegio de Amar fue realizada en 1998, pero creo que fue la novela del 2002. Enrique Rocha era mejor con el pelo corto y que bueno que ahora cambio su vestuario, esos jeans fueron los mas vistos casi siempre en Enrique Rocha. La novela fue larga pero las ultimas esenas no me gustaron.

Well what can I say? This was, is and will be the best novela of the world. Its great, they should add a second part. The best actress was Helena Rojo, her talent and beauty gave this novela the final perfect touch. I love her, she is the bestest ever. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

It's my second time watching the novela EPDA! I'm crazy about this novela. I've seen many mexican tvnovelas but this one is just different. And just like all other comments I should also add, yes dear friends I also became an admirer of HELENA ROJO the beautiful mysterious lady. And I pray so much for another novela to be aired with Helena and Andres Garcia being couple again.

El privilegio de amar es mi novela favorita. Me gustaron todos los actores, sus actuaciones fueron fenomenal. Mis favoitos son la grande HELENA ROJO y Andres Garcia. Ellos juntos tienen mucha chimica, las escenas romanticas y de amor entre ellos son muy reales. Cesar evora es tambien muy bueno actor. Definitivamente adoro esta novela.

Horrible culebron que no le llega ni a los pies a la oroginal Cristal, la falla fue tener demasidas estrellas juntas, actuaciones exgeredas y demasiada pretencion de la productora Carla Estrada, el final no tuvo la misma emocion que la telenovela Cristal (1985).

He seguido diariamente el Privilegio de Amar, vi Cristal, pero el Privilegio de Amar fue infinitamente mejor, los fans de Jeannette Rodríguez criticaron mucho esta novela, pero Adela actua muchisimo mejor que Jeannette y la produccion de El Privilegio de amar fue excelente, volveria a verla encantado.

Pienso que esta telenovela fue muy pretenciosa y algo confusa, perdio fuerza por la gran cantidad de estrellas que tenía en su reparto. Los creditos fueron horribles todos querían ser primeros actores. La historia debio ser mas sencilla como la origina "Cristal". Ademas la pareja protagónica perdió atención por la presencia de Andres García.

This is and will be the most beautiful piece of work in the mexican and latin american TVnovela production. After I watched EPDA, I got interested in mexixan novelas but since then I never saw something similar again. Helena rojo is the lovliest and most adorable person of the story and that's I think everybody says after watching it. This beautiful talented lady is blessed with this unimaginable attraction. I love the novela and I love the beautiful real story of it.

Pues que mas puedo decir, excepto que "El Privilegio De Amar" es una de las mejores telenovelas que he visto en mi vida! La historia fue algo diferente a lo que regularmente estamos acostumbrados a ver de Televisa. Fue una historia emocionante, fuerte, y muy conmovedora. Y lo mejor de todo fue la reunion de un excelente reparto: Adela Noriega, Rene Strickler, Helena Rojo, Andres Garcia, Cesar Evora, Enrique Rocha, Cynthia Klitbo, y Marga Lopez. "El Privilegio De Amar" es una de las telenovelas que los televidentes que la vimos jamas podremos olvidar! Definitivamente otro acierto mas para la gran productora Carla Estrada!

I definitely agree it is a horrible remake of Cristal which can not catch the moral message of the original novela by changing the destiny of their characters and the biggest mistake goes to the scriptwriter Liliana Abud who also write those awful Abrazame Muy Fuerte and Rosalinda. Too melodramatic and sensational compared to the original version with unnecessary additional characters and like many other remakes from Delia Fialo's televenovelas, they change the plot solution before the ending. Cynthia Klitbo is very annoying while Sabine Moussier is not exciting as venezuelan veteran Mariela Alcala. Stop remaking telenovelas for Televisa!

Acá en Colombia estaba muy fresco el recuerdo de "Crystal", la cual fué un gran suceso en una época enque estaban en furor las telenovelas venezolanas, por lo que ésta versión de "El privilegio de amar" pasó completamente inadvertida, puesto que lo original siempre es mejor. Fué inevitable comparar los actores y aunque la producción es buena me quedo con la primera versión. Me gustó más la actuación de Jeanette Rodríguez, Carlos Mata, Lupita Ferrer y Mariela Alcalá, que la de Adela, René, Helena y Sabine.

This is definitly the best piece of work in the mexican and south american soap operas. Those viewers who mention it as a bad version of crystal should realize that it's not an imitation but a new piece of art. Way better and extremely breathtaking in everyway. just to see an actress like Helena Rojo acting as Luciana duval makes you convinced, this is the best, most perfect and most real story ever. crystal is not original, but different and not as well acted and the story is never az attractive az EPDA. one could never watch the novela and not fell in love with it. luciana duval alone has become a part of alot of people's life arouond the world and has made senora Helena Rojo the legendary fabulous lady and queen of the acting. lets wish them evercoming happiness and luck.

Yo nunca habia visto El privilegio de amar al principio me parecio emocionante. Pero luego caen en lo mismo de todas las comedias. Y hay ecenas muy malas en fin al principio me gusto mucho pero luego ya me aburrian con tantos capitulos, que se llevaron recordando. Por eso es mejor la novela de Amor real.

El privilegio de amar is never going to be forgotten and in fact is going to be the ever best novela, no matter what. As going through alot of comments on different tvnovelas, I realized this novela is the one and only, with so many english written comments about it which is outstanding. Simply showing how famous the novela became and how so very many countries aired it and how popular it became all around the world. I know people being crazy about the novela who can't even understand spanish and I know the novela was translated in all the eastern uropian lamguages such as russian, polish, czech, slovak, bulgarian, yougoslavian, romanian, and........ Amor real is not even by far comparable with El privilegio de amar even though I should admit that was a great novela too. EPDA is outstanding becouse of one specific character" Helena Rojo" as we all know. Felicidades Helena!

Muy buena telenovela, Cynthia Klitbo se lucio y Marga Lopez ni se diga que señora, que actriz y Helena Rojo tambien actuo excelentemente, me dejo impactado la mancuerna villanesca de Enrique Rocha y la Klitbo, fue en verdad muy buena; aunque no me identifico para nada con el personaje de Rene Strickler. El final fue muy bonito con la escena de la iglesia en la que aparece Mijares, el beso entre Cristina y Victor Manuel y al final final, donde salen todos los actores saludando al publico, incluso me di el lujo de grabar el final en vhs. Le doy un 9.

Algo paso en la segunda parte de la decada de los 90´s porque se realizaron las mas espectaculares producciones de telenovela en televisa, con una generacionn de actores que hoy se consagran y que daban como resultado telenovelas de magnifica historia y raiting como cañaveral de pasiones, imperio de crista, la dueñalaberintos de pasion y por supuesto esta, el privilegio de amar, que practicamente paralizo el pais, si con una historia que no daba para mucho, pero que liliana abud engrandecio al maximo, sacando provecho a cada uno de los actores que participaban, helena rojo sencillamente genial, con los papeles que le quedan al maximo, una marga lopez que estremecia con sus actuaciones y con el apoyo ovbiamente de adela noriega, andres garciua, cesar evora, cinthya klitbo y maria sorte, provocaron una mania impresionante, tanto que emilio azcarraga jean con escasos meses al frente del emporio televisa, les regalo a sus protagonistas un viaje a los paises bajos europeos, praga, italia, rusia, y que carla estrada aprovecho para filmar escenas que estaran grabadas en la historia de las telenovelas mexicanas como cuando cinthya klitbo se rapa su cabellera, pooseída por la ira en un puente de florencia, italia.

I started to watch this novela when it first began then I gradually stopped caring about it because it was very boring. It was this show that I realized I hate Adela Noriega. She plays the same characters all the time, though they are placed in different situations and novelas. In conclusion, I don't know why people liked this story.

This is the greatest story and novela, even compared to all other productions of carla estrada. It's definnately an amazing big collection of great actors and actresses, above all of course HELENA ROJO. The filming is somehow different with sharp and more exciting views and the direction is perfect too. I can't wait for it to come on DVD, so I couls own it forever and watch it endlessly.

This novela is unique in my opinion because of one important powerful point in it. It's very educational. it's a tragic rare life story of a woman, but what happens in her everydays life is the way every ordinary human reacts toward difficulties. all the mistakes we all make everyday and we don't even realize, and then when you see it so nicely acted in the novela and then you see the other side... of the problem and the way it affects others, you then understand alot about people interactions. it's also a special piece for the amazing words about God and beleif. and of course Helena Rojo is the only one who could interpret this amazing script so artfully. WAW!

I agree that it's super specila because of hte scenes about God.there are parts where luciana and juan talk in the church and their words truly move you.I recently saw rubi and I liked it , but it misses alot of wht is in EPDA which makes it so great and addicting.I think EPDA is the best novela ever and it's definitly the topnovela of 90's !!and I fell in love with senora HELENA ROJO since this novela.

I started getting intrested in novelas from 6 years ago. and since then I'ne seen alot of famous ones, like EPDA, cuando seas mia, el manantial, Ramona, entre el amor y el odio, abrazame muy fuerte, las vias del amor, amor real, Rubi, mariana de la noche,.... and alot more. I recently found this site and now when I realize there is an opportunity to write our opinion in here I got really excited, so I would also like to comment on my beloved EPDA. I watched it in polish language and I haven't seen it in spanish. but it is stunning. I remember I didn't miss one part and I never felt the same about any other novela. I don't know what it is that captures you so much, weather it's the story,or all the actings, the music, or Luciana Duval who makes you feel so strong when U see her. when I went through comments I realized most people have similar opinion. my spanish is not good, I wish I could understand the spanish comments, but all I see beside Helena's name is words such as "exellente" and "gran actriz" and it just seems like she has become an international sweetheart. and I love andres, he is such a gentle man. I am planing to buy the DVD and watch it in spanish, it's a greatest motives for me to learn the language. I hope the DVD contains all the story, I don't know. at the end, EPDA is the best novela ever and will always be that way. thanx for letting us give our opinions and read that of others.

Helena rojo is the most amazing actress I've ever got to see on the latin TV, but to be more honest, she is the most amazing I've seen all around the globe. her acting absorbs you, melts you in the character she creates. as you watch el privilegio..., you fell in love with luciana duval, no matter if she is the great suffering mother, or the lover to her husband, or even the unfair woman interacting with cristina. she is adorable anyways. God bless her, she is the lovely mother of telenovelas and the beautiful woman of all scenes.

I think as el privilegio de amar as a feed back to alot of other good novelas. it got alot of amazingly written events in it that were taken from it and put in other novelas, but never quit made them the way it was in el privilegio de amar. it was a well written story transformed to an even more amazing picture with a long list of great famous actors and actresses and a professional director as is carla estrada.bright adored names such as HELENA ROJO, Andres Garcia, Adela Noriega, Rene Strickler, Enriqure Rocha, Cynthia Klitbo, Marga Lopez, Cesar Evora, Yadhira carillo, Sabine Moussier, and alot more....! I never came across a more attractive collection of stars as I did in this one. Amor Real tried to get as high with some same stars as Helena and Adela, but didn't quit get as big as the collection. I remember the tentions and expectations of public before el privilegio came out. with the names on the novela everyone wondered and waited patiently and it worthed the wait. people still go crazy with it. it's this mysteriously powerful novela with much more great things to say about it, that is just not possible in my words. WAW!

El privilegio de amar is the most amazing novela in the world. I absolutly love ir, me encanta, but it's not cristina that I like, but it's HELENA ROJO.I get sick of cristina's cries while luciana's cry makes me cry with her. no wonder helena rojo is more known as luciana duval in contries where i'm coming from (east europe). we all love luciana duval and she's making such a great couple with andres duval. I also should admit that Marga lopez is great actress too. she perfectly made me hate her in this novela as the role of the fenatic horrible woman who made luciana suffer so much. I was so glad that she didn't burn to death and got to the jail. and I love the part wehere luciana and andres get back together. actually any part that makes them act together is certainly lovely.

I love this telenovela and after this telenovela i became to fan of helena rojo.she is fascinating her beuty and act is wonderful. i watch this telenovela 2nd time and it is so interesting but i hate andres garcia act andres duval he's such a pig and i think luciana could find much better man.

Marga lopez did a great villana in el privilegio de amar, as the fenatic mother of padre juan. she portrayed a very new kind of destroying character and her work was amazing. along with Helena rojo they were the best actresses of EPDA. Marga lopez died on 4th of july of a cardiac arrythmia, and we are gonna miss her alot.

I would also like to add something here regarding senora MARGA LOPEZ. Even thogh I hated her in el privilegio, she is an amazing actress. I saw her in enter el amor y el odio and she was this extremely sweet gandma, as well as in bajo la misma piel. But I should say that her acting in EPDA was the best.a great villana indeed. who else could ever replace her great act as the grandma in telenovelas?? I also think that she shined like a star in EPDA, along with the extraordinary HELENA ROJO. El privilegio de amar finished recently here in U.S. and I was watching it for the second time. for God sakes what is done to this novela which makes it so crazy good. EPDA has ended and I and my friends are still reviewing the scenes even though it's our 2nd time. HELENA ROJO IS APPARENTLY THE MOST AMAZING ACTRESS EVER. she is this unbeleivably attractive creature. cynthia klitbo is great too. also is sabine, and adriana nieto, and of course the great Marga lopez is a top actress, but someone for the love of God tell me, what does adela noriega have to do with a good actress anyways?? she is fake and there is only one character she can play and even that is not nice to everyone except her fans of course. senora marga lopez died on 4th of july 2005 and it's so tragic to know, right after watching her in EPDA all over again. may God give her a beautiful place in the eternal world above. our love to you senora MARGA LOPEZ.
