Salome was a great telenovela. I enjoyed it from the very beginning although I must admit that it was the second part that got me hooked to the story every single day! Edith, Guy, Sebastian (who was an excellent villian), Maria Rubio, Aaron Hernan and the three Joses of Salome (Jose Maria Torre, Ernesto D'Alessio and Rafael Amaya) were all fantastic and did an amazing job. Salome is truly one telenovela to remember. And even though the story was inspired by "Colorina", it had some originality in it, as well. What I did find a little dissapointing was the fact that after all the guessing and all the mystery, Julio and Salome's son turned out to be Jose Julian (Amaya) who in my opinion was an obvious choice. I would've much rather prefered it had been Jose Armando (Torre) because not only is he the best actor out of all three of the young men but it would have made perfect sense that his character had been Salome's legitimate son simply because his ambition and strenght of character resembled Lucrecia's (Julio's manipulative mother). Anyhow, Salome was great: the cast, the story and even the theme song by Marco Antonio Solis. I recommend it and give it a huge thumbs up!!!!

Salome is the best telenovela ever. Although I agree that Diego always gets away with it, and that Karicia always had perfect nails, it is still the best telenovela. Fernanda is great, Julio also. And the three sons are marvelous - good looking also. It was obvious that Jose Julian is the right one. I was very sad because Natalia had to die. But glad that Jose Armando got a daughter, his little princess. :) Romina and Jose Miguel were also great. But the best couple in the telenovela was Jose Julian and his Karla. They were so cute. I cried of joy when he proposed. :) Enjoy the telenovela, it is great!

It was the worst and the most stupid telenovela from Mexico. I never saw other so bad teleserie like this. History was very stupid and don't make any sense. I dislike it very much.

Colorina was so much better, but Salome wasn't that bad. I agree that José Julián was an obvious choice. In Colorina the son was "Danilo", the ambicious one because he has the heritage his grandma's character.

Me parece absurdo...

Where to begin with this one, just plain awful. They just put in all of the novela cliches, kidnapping, fake pregnancies, memory loss, the incurable diciese. And that stupid doctor, who let's a med student, who never seems to go to any classes, assist in giving birth? Juan Osorio is probably one of the worst producers ever, please don't make anymore. Nuirka cannot act the only reason she has the job is because she is the producer's wife.

Salome is currently showing in Germany and has caught my interest. I have watched pervious soaps with Edith Gonzalez and it was refreshing to see something set in modern time. I like the characters in the soap but I have to admit that there are too many tragedies in this soap, a bit unrealistic but captivating. Can't wait to finally know who Julio's son is though I tend to think it is Jose Julian.

I really enjoyed this telenovela, so much different than the typical ones one Spainish tv, the shows cheesiness made the show even better. My favorite part was the female college student who clicked her fingers when telling people they "fracascaste"...

The music was great, but I agree with those who said it is one of the worst telenovelas ever seen. It was so bad that I have refused to watch Mujer de Madera because I don't think I can stand Edith Gonzalez any more.

The first part was different and interesting. Salome was not a perfect angel like most protagonistas. she was human. i liked how it took place in the eighties then in modern times to match the growth of the children. the second part was aimed towards younger people and therefore sucked. it was full of cliches. i thought the first part was awesome, but the second part made me not like the novela overall.

I didn't like this telenovela at all. The storyline was terrible, and most all the actors were horrible, especially Guy Ecker. Edith Gonzalez was kinda OK, but characters like Mauricio, Rebecca and Danny were totally unnecessary. Salome, two thumbs down.

I am so shocked at how many people left comments on here saying that Salome was awful!!! I am now watching it again for the second time through and I am enjoying it just as much if not more than I did the first time I saw it when it first aired in 2001. I love the characters and the plot twists! To me, nearly everything is believable and the acting is wonderful! It's so much more interesting than American soaps because it doesn't take 2 months to get through one day or to get to the point. Salome is, and will always hold a special place in my heart. I cried when they cried, laughed when they laughed and rejoiced when they rejoiced. I think someone should distribute it as a dvd just like other shows. I would love to own it. I didn't know that it was a remake of another novela though -- I'm curious to see that too.
