This story begins with a manqué-marriage. Andrea is a promised bride to Luciano, but she abandons him when she discovers that he is in love with her sister Flor. She is desperate and she abandons her family and she finds real love in Marcelo, a racing driver. But he is tied up with Irene. Flor is pregnant from Luciano and being ashamed she gives her baby to her sister, who is now married to Marcelo. After some years Flor gets married too. She discovers to be sterile but her husband wants a child. She decides to take away her child from her sister. This begins the legal struggle between two sisters for the custody of a child. Then Luciano is killed, but by whom? A gripping story with surprising end.

"Velo de novia II" is NOT a remake of telenovela "Velo de novia I", they are written by different authors, the only thing in common is title.
The Brazilian version of "Velo de novia" is telenovela "Véu de novia" (1969) with Regina Duarte and Claudio Marzo, the first Brazilian urban telenovela.

Esta telenovela es muy superior a Velo de novia 2. Realmente una pareja espectacular Julissa con el galan Andres Garcia y un nuevo exito en los años 70 para el señor telenovela Ernesto Alonso.

Por supuesto que esta primera versión de "Velo de novia", producida por el señor Ernesto Alonso, debe haber sido, lejos, mejor que el fiasco aquel que produjera Juan Osorio el año recién pasado. Eso no ni que dudarlo.
